Swing set and dinosaur at playground with information regarding a ribbon cutting and grand opening.

Get ready for the coolest celebration in town! Cooper City is thrilled to invite residents and families to the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the brand new playground at Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex on Monday, November 24, at 4 p.m. This highly anticipated addition promises endless fun, and yes, complimentary ice cream to help make the celebration even sweeter!

The new playground is designed to spark creativity, adventure, and play for children. At the heart of the space is a massive play structure where imaginations can run wild, surrounded by an exciting climbing area, monkey bars, spinner, and two sets of swings that encourage active play and exploration.

But no visit will be complete without meeting the playground’s newest resident “Coop the Coopersaurus!” This playful dinosaur is set to become a community favorite after residents submitted name suggestions through social media and voted for their top choice in the City’s weekly e-newsletter. Coop now stands proudly as the friendly mascot of Cooper City’s latest playground, bringing smiles to both kids and parents alike.

The playground project represents a major investment in Cooper City’s park system, funded in part through a National Parks Service (NPS) and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant and City funds dedicated to improving recreational amenities. Together, these investments are helping ensure that Cooper City remains “Someplace Special” for families to play, gather, and grow.

So mark your calendars, grab the family, and come celebrate this exciting milestone. With ice cream, laughter, and plenty of fun, the grand opening of the Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex playground will truly be a cool event for the whole family!
